A meeting of the board of directors of the Atascadero Creek Green Valley Creek Watershed Council was held at 375 Montgomery in Sebastopol on March 3, 2007. Directors Jean Redus, John Roberts, Stephen Fuller-Rowell, and Bob Burke were present. Also present for a portion of the meeting was Joe Honton. Jean called the meeting to order at 10:05. Minutes. The minutes of the February board meeting were approved. Financial Report. John gave a brief financial report. Laguna de Santa Rosa. Joe Honton gave a detailed presentation on the conservation and restoration plan proposed for the Laguna de Santa Rosa by the Laguna Foundation. Joe has recently co-authored a two volume entitled "Enhancing and Caring for the Laguna." The Foundation will be hosting a "State of the Laguna Conference" on the weekend of March 29-31 at Sonoma State University. The directors unanimously commended and thanked Joe for his work on behalf of our neighboring watershed. Urban Water Management Plan. Stephen reported on continuing discussions among members of the Sonoma County Water Coalition regarding the possibility of filing a lawsuit challenging the 2005 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP). The directors discussed additional steps to be taken to address the inadequacy of the UWMP. PRMD Notices. Although Dave was unable to attend the board meeting, he had sent to the other directors an e-mail message reporting on his efforts to have the County Permit and Resource Management Department provide to the Council written notice of applications for material developments within the watershed. Dave will provide to PRMD a map showing the watershed and parcels within it. Annual Election of Directors. Bob agreed to draft for review by the directors a communication alerting members of the need to elect directors for the upcoming fiscal year. Communications with Residents of the Watershed. Jean will be meeting with John and David to update the Council's brochure and to address the larger question of communications with persons interested in the watershed. Brittany Heck of the Gold Ridge RCD will join in such meeting. Guerneville Waste Water Disposal Proposals. John reported on proposals under consideration for disposal of waste water from the Guerneville treatment system, including a proposal to run a transmission pipeline into the Green Valley Creek Watershed..
